NY NOW Trend Seekers

Maxwell Ryan, CEO & Founder of Apartment Therapy

MAXWELLPrior to founding the leading digital destination for all things home related, Maxwell Ryan was known as the “apartment therapist”, traveling by scooter to his clients’ homes to help them make their spaces beautiful, organized and healthy. Part interior designer, part life coach, his touch points were simplicity, comfort, and lack of clutter. Unlike typical designers, Maxwell didn’t want to dictate where things should go or how people should live; he wanted to arm them with the tools and the confidence to decide for themselves.

Lindsey Beatty, Style Director for Coastal Living

Lindsey Ellis Beatty is the Style Director for Coastal Living magazine. Born and raised in Alabama, Lindsey grew up with Southern Accents on the coffee table and recipes from Southern Living strewn across the kitchen counters. She spent her youth constantly rearranging her bedroom, and perusing photography and design books.  After graduating from Vanderbilt, Lindsey started her career in 2000 as an intern in the food department at Southern Living. Eventually, she started dabbling in story production and photo styling, and now has over 15 years of experience in the industry as an editor, stylist and designer. She spends her days creating inventive story packages, infusing interiors with personality, shopping for the perfect objects and products to fill up her pages, and working with photographers to capture it all.
